Best Porsche 911 (992) Phone Mount in 2026. Why Every Option Falls Short (Except One)
You drive a 992. The centre console is a glass panel with haptic switches, the dash is leather or Race-Tex, and the storage bucket beside the gear selector was shaped by someone who cared. Then someone suggests a suction cup on the windscreen. Here is what exists for the 992, what each option costs you, and what we built instead.
Key takeaways
- Vent clips do not get a proper grip on the 992's slim louvres, and they load a trim part Porsche never designed to carry anything
- Dash pads and windscreen suction mounts sit in your sight line, are visible from outside, and leave a footprint on leather
- The factory inductive tray, where fitted, hides the phone in the armrest. Owners report iPhones running warm in it on sunny days
- The Tactic Engineering mount drops into the console storage bucket. Nothing touches the leather, the vents or the glass panel
- Phone upright beside the gear selector, readable at a glance, Qi2 charger included, up to 25 W. Or a Quad Lock head
- Shaped to the 992 bucket. No drilling, no adhesive, reversible in seconds
- Fits 992 Carrera, T, GTS and Turbo, 2020 to 2026. Not the GT3. Not the 991
The 992 interior problem
The 992 cabin is built around a few deliberate surfaces. A glass centre console with haptic switches. A dash in leather or Race-Tex. Slim horizontal air vents. A small storage bucket beside the stubby gear selector. None of it was designed with a phone holder in mind, and every generic mount pays for that.
Vent clips need a louvre to bite on. The 992's vents are narrow slots with thin vanes. A spring clip either does not fit or grips a single vane. A 911 pulls around 1 g in a corner. One vane is not enough, and when the vane gives, the vent is not a cheap part.
Windscreen and dash mounts solve the grip problem by moving the phone where you do not want it. A suction cup on the glass sits in your sight line and is visible from outside the car. A weighted dash pad sits on leather. Both put the phone further from your hand than the console.
And then there is the leather. It ages with UV. Uncovered, it ages evenly. Cover a patch with a bracket or a pad and that patch keeps a different history from the rest. After a year, remove the mount and the outline is there, lighter or darker than its surroundings. On Chalk, Mojave Beige or Truffle Brown it is obvious. There is no undoing it.
The factory tray does none of that damage because it hides the phone. On 992s with the smartphone compartment, the phone lies face down in the armrest under a closed lid. You cannot see a map, a call or a message. Owners report iPhones running warm and slowing the charge in summer. Most people try it for a week and go back to a cable.

The honest assessment of each option
Brodit ProClip
Two pieces. A plastic bracket that levers into a gap between dash panels, plus the phone holder of your choice. ProClip makes a 992 bracket and the fit is decent. The problem is where it lives: in a gap Porsche left for thermal movement, not for load. Add a MagSafe holder and you are past €100, with a bracket visible from outside the car.
Rennline ExactFit
Metal, well made, respected in the Porsche community. The ExactFit range covers many 911 generations and some versions take a wireless puck. The bracket still rests on the dash or clamps at a vent, so the leather under it keeps a different light history from day one. Limited availability in Europe.
Magnetic vent mounts
The cheapest route and the one most 992 owners try first. The slim louvres give the clip one thin vane to hold. It wobbles, it tilts under braking, and in a hot cabin the plastic clip relaxes. The magnet plates that come with these are usually not Qi2, so you also lose wireless charging.
Windscreen and dash suction mounts
They hold. They also put the phone on the glass, in your sight line and in view of everyone outside the car. Summer heat and winter cold make the cup let go, usually when you are driving. On the dash, the pad sits on leather and leaves a footprint.
The factory inductive tray
Porsche hides the charging tray in the armrest compartment on cars so specified. It keeps the cabin clean, which is the point. It also means the phone is face down, out of sight and sealed in a box. Owners report thermal warnings in summer and charge that slows to a crawl. Fine for a commute with CarPlay. Not for anyone who looks at the phone.
DIY 3D prints
Forum files exist for the 992 bucket, which tells you how badly owners want a mount that sits there. Desktop FDM prints warp at the temperatures a parked 911 reaches in July and the layer lines show. No charging, no tilt. Right idea, wrong tools.
What we built
The 992's storage bucket, the open tray beside the gear selector, is the right place for a phone. It is central, it is below the glass panel, it is at hand without leaving your sight line, and it is not leather. So we built a base for it.
The base is shaped to the bucket. Every edge radius, the draft on the walls, the floor profile. Drop it in and it sits flush, with no rattle, like a part Porsche forgot to fit. On top of the base sits the head you choose. The MagSafe variant ships complete with a Qi2 charger, up to 25 W over USB-C with a braided cable: iPhone 12 and newer, Qi2 Android phones, any MagSafe case up to 3 mm. For full speed, plug it into a 30 W or stronger USB-C PD source. The Quad Lock variant is a sintered-nylon adapter for the Quad Lock MAG charging head you already own.
Drop the base in. Plug in USB-C. Snap the phone on. That is the installation. Taking it out takes as long. The console stays exactly as Porsche built it, which matters when you sell the car.
Made for the 992 bucket
Shaped to the factory tray. Drops in, sits flush, looks like it belongs there.
Qi2 up to 25 W, MagSafe
Snap on, charge. iPhone 12 and newer, Qi2 Android. Quad Lock head as an alternative.
Magnetic Qi2 alignment
The phone snaps on and stays put through hard cornering. You pull it off; it does not fall off.
Nothing touches the leather
No vent, no dash, no glass panel. Sits inside the bucket. Reversible in seconds.
Made in Switzerland
Sintered PA12 nylon, laser sintered in our own workshop. No warping in summer, no cracking in alpine cold. 2-year warranty, spares always available.
MagSafe means one hand on, one hand off. No cradle arms, no clamp to squeeze. The phone snaps on and starts charging. Pull it off when you leave the car. Snap it back when you return.
Porsche 911 (992) Phone Mount
Drop-in console install · Qi2 up to 25 W or Quad Lock · 992 Carrera, T, GTS, Turbo (2020 to 2026)
Porsche leather ages through UV exposure. Cover part of a leather panel with a mount and the shielded area fades at a different rate than the rest. After 12 to 18 months the outline is visible and cannot be reversed. A mount that lives inside the storage bucket makes no contact with any leather surface. The problem does not exist.
Compatibility: Porsche 911 (992), 2020 to 2026
The rule: if your 911 has the drop-in storage bucket in the centre console, with the electric handbrake and the short gear selector, this mount fits. That is the 992 layout from 2020 onwards, including the 2024 update.

- 992 Carrera T
- 992 GTS and 4 GTS

Who this is for
Daily drivers on CarPlay
PCM is good. You still use Waze or Google Maps. This puts the phone beside your hand, upright and charged, without covering a centimetre of leather or glass.
Light interior owners
Chalk, Mojave Beige, Truffle Brown. The lighter the hide, the more visible a bracket footprint becomes. A mount that sits in the bucket never touches it.
Mountain road and track day drivers
A vent clip lets go under lateral load. A base in the bucket with magnetic Qi2 alignment does not. The phone stays where you put it through a pass road or a session at the Ring.
Owners who have tried everything else
A vent clip that wobbled, a suction cup that fell at the first cold morning, a tray that cooked the phone. This is the mount you were looking for when you bought those.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit the 992 GT3?
No. The GT3 has a different centre console. A GT3 version is in development. Email us and we will let you know when it ships.
Does it fit the 991?
No. The 991 has a narrower rectangular tray and a mechanical handbrake and shifter layout. We make a separate mount for it: 911 (991) phone mount.
Does it fit the 2024 update of the 992?
Yes. The console bucket did not change with the update. 2020 to 2026, Carrera, T, GTS and Turbo.
Do I lose the storage bucket?
Yes. The bucket becomes the phone's home. Keys and wallet go in the armrest compartment, which is where they belong anyway.
How does the install work?
Drop the base into the bucket. Plug the USB-C cable into the console port. Snap the phone on. No tools, no adhesive, no drilling. Under a minute, and fully reversible.
Will it mark the console or the leather?
No. The base sits inside the bucket and touches nothing else. Lift it out and the console is as Porsche built it.
Does it work with Android phones?
Yes. Any Qi2 Android phone snaps on and charges. For phones without Qi2 magnets, a MagSafe-compatible case adds the alignment ring. Any case up to 3 mm works.
I already own a Quad Lock charging head. Which variant?
The Quad Lock variant. It is the same 992 base with a sintered-nylon adapter that takes the Quad Lock MAG wireless charging head. You bring the head and the case.
Left-hand drive or right-hand drive?
Both. The bucket sits on the centreline of the car, so one mount fits LHD and RHD without a variant choice.
Where is it made?
Switzerland. We design the mounts, scan the consoles and sinter the nylon in our own workshop. Two-year warranty, spare parts always available.
Ready to fit your 992?
A phone mount drawn for the 992 console bucket. Swiss made, drops in, charges at up to 25 W, and never touches a surface Porsche intended to be left alone.
