Magnetic Ski Rack for Mercedes Sprinter — No Drill
Built for the Mercedes Sprinter. Steel-roof confirmed. No drilling. No roof bars. The original magnetic ski/snowboard/kite rack, invented in Switzerland in December 2021. Tested at 250–260 km/h on the German autobahn.
Why a magnetic rack on a Sprinter
The Mercedes Sprinter (VS30 and earlier 906/W906) has a steel roof and steel side panels. That is the ideal surface for our 56 kg neodymium magnets. No vacuum to pump. No bars to drill. No bracket holes to seal up two years later when you sell the van.
The kit moves between vans. Sell your Sprinter, keep the rack. Switch to a Crafter, the same plates work. Roof bars built for a Sprinter cannot do that.
Fits every Sprinter generation
- Mercedes Sprinter VS30 (2018–present) — L1/L2/L3/L4, H1/H2/H3, RWD/4x4
- Mercedes Sprinter NCV3 / W906 (2006–2018)
- Mercedes Sprinter T1N (1995–2006)
- Mercedes-Benz Vito and V-Class (steel-roof versions)
Camper conversions on the Sprinter platform: BunkerVan, Hymer, Westfalia, Knaus, Pilote, Adria, Bürstner, La Strada, Globecar, VanTourer, RoadCar, Sunlight, Carthago, and most professional conversions — all compatible.
Mount it on the roof, side panel, or rear doors
On a high-roof Sprinter, the standard install is the roof. On a mid-roof or for kiteboards, the rear doors and side panels work equally well. The magnets adapt to slightly curved surfaces thanks to the joint design. Vertical or horizontal orientation, your choice.

Frequently asked questions — Sprinter-specific
Will it scratch my Sprinter's paint?
The magnet contact face is protected. On a stock Sprinter steel roof or panel, the rack does not scratch standard automotive paint. Place the plates carefully and avoid sliding across the surface.
Does it work on a high-roof Sprinter (L3H3, L4H3)?
Yes. Roof access is your only consideration. Many installers mount on the side panels or rear doors for easier loading.
Does it work on aluminum roofs?
No. The Sprinter roof is steel — confirmed. Magnets do not bond to aluminum. Use our compatibility tool if you're unsure about a specific year or trim.
Will it fit my BunkerVan or other Sprinter-based camper?
Yes, in almost every case. Steel body panels are standard. We've shipped to BunkerVan, Hymer, Pilote, Knaus, La Strada and many independent converters since 2021.
Can I install it on the rear doors for a kiteboard?
Yes. The rear doors of a Sprinter are steel and ideal for kiteboard mounting. Two plates per door is the standard install.
Do I need to remove it for car washes or tunnels?
For automated brush car washes, remove the rack. The rack itself can stay on at highway speed and in normal weather. Removal takes seconds.
