This handle mounts to the interior door panel, which is thin sheet metal. The limiting factor is not the handle itself but the strength of the door panel at the mounting point. It's well-suited as a step-in assist for lighter users, but heavier users should exercise judgment — the door panel can flex or deform under excessive force. Use common sense when pulling yourself up.
