Built for the panels that are not flat
Our standard MaxTrax mounts are designed for flat surfaces. This kit is for everything else — curved roofs, sloping hoods and any non-flat panel where you want to carry your recovery boards. The magnets sit on adjustable joints that conform to the surface curvature, giving you full contact and maximum hold.
Four rubberized magnets
56 kg pull force each. Pull force is measured when pulling straight off the surface. In real-world use, lateral forces — pushing or pulling sideways — are around 17 kg per magnet.
Adjustable joints
Each magnet sits on a pivoting joint and tilts to meet the panel. The joint ships loose so you can find the angle. Once the magnet sits flat, you tighten the nut. Tightened, it stays put.

Pins included. They insert into the MaxTrax board recesses and snap into place. Supports two boards.

Installation
Five steps. Step four is the one that matters: the joints ship loose so you can set the angle, and a joint left loose will work itself apart on a corrugated road.
- 1. Apply the included transparent stickers on the vehicle to protect the paint before mounting.
- 2. Insert the magnets, pin first, into the MaxTrax board recesses and let them snap into place.
- 3. Place the boards on the curved panel. Leave the joints free, so every magnet tilts and sits flat on the steel.
- 4. Tighten the upper nut of each joint clockwise with a 19 mm spanner (wrench). Hold the lower nut with a 22 mm spanner while you do it. Firm, not brutal: overtightened, the angle is hard to change later.
- 5. Check all four nuts after the first drive, and again after every rough track.
The joint arrives loose on purpose. That is what lets each magnet find the panel. Left loose, vibration unscrews it and the board can swing into the bodywork. We do not use thread locker: the joint has to come apart for cleaning and for moving the boards to another panel. The tightened nut is what keeps it closed.
Loosen only the upper nut (19 mm), counterclockwise. The lower nut (22 mm) stays on the magnet. If it starts to turn, hold it with the second spanner, otherwise it unscrews from the magnet.
An optional anti-theft cable with marine-grade lock, sold separately, secures your boards on exposed surfaces like roofs and hoods.

How they are made
Engineered in Switzerland and manufactured in carbon fiber reinforced plastic through 3D printing. Each part is inspected and tested to withstand high temperatures and heavy loads. Minor surface imperfections may be visible due to the manufacturing process. They do not affect performance.
Shipping, duties and warranty
Should a component fail, or if the magnets lose strength over time, contact us for a replacement. You are never forced to buy the whole kit again.

How do the adjustable joints work?
Each magnet sits on a pivoting joint that ships loose. Place the boards, let every magnet sit flat on the panel, then tighten the nut. A joint left loose can work itself apart on a corrugated road, so always tighten it. Transparent paint protection stickers are included.
Will it hold on my vehicle?
The magnet needs steel underneath. It holds on steel panels and does not hold on aluminium. Not sure? Put a fridge magnet on the spot first: if it sticks firmly, the mount holds.
