Quick-release magnetic supports for TRED GT and HD recovery boards, designed for curved van and 4x4 body panels. Pivoting joints let every magnet sit flat on the steel. No drilling, no damage.
Installation
Four steps. Step three is the one that matters: the joints ship loose so you can set the angle, and a joint left loose will work itself apart on a corrugated road.
- 1. Insert the four magnetic supports, pin first, into the holes of your TRED recovery boards.
- 2. Place the boards on the curved panel. Leave the joints free, so every magnet tilts and sits flat on the steel.
- 3. Tighten the upper nut of each joint clockwise with a 19 mm spanner (wrench). Hold the lower nut with a 22 mm spanner while you do it. Firm, not brutal: overtightened, the angle is hard to change later.
- 4. Check all four nuts after the first drive, and again after every rough track.
The joint arrives loose on purpose. That is what lets each magnet find the panel. Left loose, vibration unscrews it and the board can swing into the bodywork. We do not use thread locker: the joint has to come apart for cleaning and for moving the boards to another panel. The tightened nut is what keeps it closed.
Loosen only the upper nut (19 mm), counterclockwise. The lower nut (22 mm) stays on the magnet. If it starts to turn, hold it with the second spanner, otherwise it unscrews from the magnet.
This version is made for curved van and 4x4 body panels. Each kit carries two recovery boards — one pair.

Tactic Engineering designed the first magnetic mounts for camper vans, in December 2021. Every part is designed and manufactured in Switzerland. Designed, produced and hand-assembled here, using high-end materials.
The plastic parts of the pins are 3D printed from carbon-fibre reinforced polymer. That makes them durable, heat-resistant and impact-proof.
