Best Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer and Ram ProMaster Phone Mount in 2026. Why Every Option Falls Short (Except One)

Four badges, one dashboard. Before 2022 the Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper (Relay in the UK), Peugeot Boxer and Ram ProMaster leave the same factory with the same cab: a wide dash, a windscreen a long reach from the seat, and a round cup holder in the centre of the dashboard. Couriers, camper owners and fleet managers all ask the same question. Where does the phone go? Here is every option, what each one costs you, and why we put ours in the cup holder with one screw.

Key takeaways

  • Suction cups on the Ducato windscreen put the phone a long reach away, in full sun, and let go when the glass heats and cools
  • Vent clips hang on a vent vane, block the airflow and rattle loose on bad roads
  • Adhesive pads and dash brackets leave residue, marks or clips in the panel gaps of a van you will want to sell or return clean
  • The Tactic Engineering mount sits in the centre cup holder on one factory TX25 Torx screw. No glue. No suction cup. No adhesive
  • The cup holder still takes a drink
  • Angled toward the driver. Low in the cab, out of the windscreen sun. Close enough to read, far enough that you leave it alone
  • Qi2 charger included, up to 25 W. One mount for the Ducato, Jumper / Relay, Boxer and ProMaster

The Ducato cab problem

The Ducato cab is built for work. A wide dash, a windscreen that sits far from the seat, vents at hand height and a centre stack with the radio, the climate controls and a round cup holder in the middle. Plenty of surfaces. Few of them are a good place for a phone.

Suction cups are the first thing most owners try. The windscreen is upright and a long reach away, so the phone ends up far from your hand, in your view of the road and in the full sun. Heat and cold release the cup, usually mid-route.

Vent clips hang the phone on a vent vane that was not built to carry it. The vent is blocked, the phone is cooked by the heater in winter, and on a cobbled street or a gravel campsite road the clip walks loose.

Adhesive and magnet pads want a flat, smooth surface. The Ducato dash is textured plastic. Pads lift at the edges in summer and leave residue when they go.

Dash brackets such as Brodit ProClip clip into the panel gaps of the dash or screw into it, and the phone holder is a second purchase. They hold. They also leave marks in the trim, and the charger is a third purchase.

Dash-top holders sit on the top shelf, under the windscreen. That is where the van gets hottest. A phone charging in direct sun stops charging to protect its battery, often right when you need the map.

The honest assessment of each option

Suction cups

They work in a hatchback because the glass is close and sloped. In a Ducato the windscreen is upright and far away. The phone ends up high, out of reach and in the sun. Every temperature swing works the cup loose.

Vent clips

Cheap and the first to fail. A clip grips one vane. On cobbles it wobbles, on a campsite track it falls. In winter the heater blows straight into the back of the phone. In a van that runs all day, the vane breaks first.

Adhesive and magnet pads

The Ducato dash is textured. Adhesive does not like texture or heat. The pad lifts within a season and leaves residue behind. On a leased or fleet van, that residue is a deduction at return.

Dash brackets

The serious option until now. A Brodit-style bracket holds well once it is in. It clips into the panel gaps or screws into the trim, the phone holder is extra, and charging is extra again. Three purchases, and marks in the dash when it comes out.

Dash-top holders

The top shelf looks like the obvious spot. It is also directly under the windscreen. In summer the phone overheats, stops charging and dims the screen. The phone also sits low in your view of the road.

DIY 3D prints

Forum files exist, which tells you how many owners want a mount in the cab. Desktop FDM prints warp in a parked van in July, the layers separate on vibration, and nothing charges. Right idea, wrong material.

Why the cup holder

We tested the cab. The centre cup holder is the one spot that gets five things right at the same time.

Install

One screw. Nothing else.

The factory TX25 Torx screw at the bottom of the cup holder holds the mount. No glue, no suction cup, no adhesive.

Use

The cup holder still holds a drink

The mount takes the screw, not the cup holder. Your coffee keeps its place.

Angle

Turned toward the driver

The phone faces you at a natural reading angle. A glance, not a head turn.

Heat

Out of the windscreen sun

Low in the cab, away from the glass. The phone stays cooler and keeps charging.

Reach

Close, not too close

Easy to read, easy to tap at a stop. Far enough from your hand that you leave it alone while driving.

That last point matters more than it sounds. A phone right next to the steering wheel gets touched all day. A phone you can read at a glance but have to reach for gets left alone until you stop.

What we built

A base in sintered nylon, shaped to the centre cup holder of the pre-2022 Ducato cab. It is held by the factory TX25 Torx screw, so nothing is drilled, glued or stuck. On top, the included Qi2 charger: up to 25 W over USB-C, iPhone 12 and newer, Qi2 Android phones, any MagSafe or Qi2 case up to 3 mm. The phone snaps on magnetically and stays put on cobbles, speed bumps and campsite gravel.

Remove the TX25 screw at the bottom of the cup holder. Fit the mount in its place. Plug in USB-C. Snap the phone on. A few minutes with one Torx driver. Take it out the same way and the cab is as it left the factory.

Installation in four steps: remove the TX25 Torx screw in the Fiat Ducato pre-2022 cup holder, seat the mount, refit the screw, place the phone. Same for Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer and Ram ProMaster

Check your cup holder first

This is the one rule. The mount fits the round cup holder in the centre of the dashboard, with the step through the middle and a TX25 Torx screw at the bottom. If your cup holder looks like the photo below, this is your mount. If it does not, your van has the later dashboard and needs the Fiat Ducato 2022+ Phone Mount.

Who this is for

Couriers and delivery drivers

A full day of stops. The delivery app upright beside you, readable at a glance, charged at the end of the shift. The cup holder still takes the coffee.

Motorhome and camper owners

Hymer, Adria, Pilote, Rapido and every other conversion on this chassis keep the factory cab. Navigation where you can see it, nothing stuck to the dash of a vehicle you paid a lot for.

Fleet managers

One factory screw, nothing drilled, nothing glued. The van goes back at the end of the lease as it came. Same mount for Fiat, Citroën and Peugeot vans in the same fleet.

ProMaster van builders

Your ProMaster shares its dashboard with the European Ducato. Same cup holder, same screw, same mount. A clean cab to match the build behind it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need drilling or adhesive?

No. The mount is held by the factory TX25 Torx screw at the bottom of the cup holder. No drilling, no glue, no suction cup, no adhesive.

Can I still use the cup holder?

Yes. The mount takes the screw position. The cup holder still takes a drink.

Which tools do I need?

One TX25 Torx driver. Remove the screw, fit the mount in its place, plug in USB-C. A few minutes.

Does it fit the Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer and Ram ProMaster?

Yes, when the cup holder matches the photo. Before 2022 these vans share the Ducato dashboard. The mount is the same for all of them.

How do I know if I need the 2022+ version instead?

Compare your cup holder with the photo above. Round, step in the middle, TX25 screw at the bottom: this mount. Anything else: the Fiat Ducato 2022+ Phone Mount. If in doubt, send us a photo.

Left-hand drive or right-hand drive?

Left-hand drive for now. Right-hand drive is not available yet. Email us to register interest.

Does it work with Android phones and Quad Lock cases?

Yes. Any Qi2 Android phone snaps on and charges. For phones without Qi2 magnets, a MagSafe-compatible case adds the alignment ring. Quad Lock MAG cases and any MagSafe case up to 3 mm snap on too.

Does it get hot in summer?

Less than anything on the windscreen or the dash top. The mount sits low in the cab, out of direct sun through the glass. A phone that stays cooler keeps charging.

Where does the power come from?

The included charger runs on USB-C. Plug it into a USB-C port or a 12 V to USB-C adapter. A 30 W or stronger USB-C PD source gives full speed, for example our 30W Mini USB-C Car Charger.

Where is it made?

Switzerland. We design the mounts and sinter the nylon in-house. 2-year warranty in Switzerland and the EU, 1 year elsewhere. Every part replaceable at fair prices.

Ready to fit your van?

A phone mount drawn for the pre-2022 Ducato cup holder. One screw, no glue, no suction cup. Angled toward the driver, out of the sun, charging at up to 25 W. Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper / Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Ram ProMaster.
