Best Porsche Macan EV Phone Mount in 2026. Why Every Option Falls Short (Except One)
The electric Macan has the cleanest console Porsche has drawn. A curved display, a floating centre screen, a tray under the vents and a cooled charging compartment below it. Nothing to clip to, nothing to clamp. Generic phone mounts were designed for cars with a vent and a flat dash. The Macan EV has neither in the right place. Here is what exists, what each option does to the cabin, and what we built instead.
Key takeaways
- The Macan EV has slim vents and a floating screen. Vent clips and screen clamps have nothing solid to hold
- Brodit and similar brackets lever into trim gaps and stay visible from outside the car
- The cooled charging compartment hides the phone under the console. You cannot read a map on a phone you cannot see
- The Tactic Engineering mount drops into the tray under the vents and hooks to the compartment flap. No adhesive, no drilling
- Phone upright below the central screen, in your sight line, Qi2 charger included, up to 25 W. Or a Quad Lock head
- Shaped from a 3D scan of the electric Macan console. 400 g complete, five-step install, no tools
- Fits Macan, Macan 4, 4S, GTS and Turbo Electric, 2024 to 2026. Not the petrol Macan, which has its own mount
The Macan EV interior problem
Porsche built the electric Macan's cabin around screens and air. A curved 12.6-inch instrument display, a floating 10.9-inch centre screen, an optional passenger screen, slim vent slots and a centre console that rises toward the dash. Under the vents sits an open tray. Below the tray, behind a flap, the cooled smartphone compartment with inductive charging. Owners love it. Phone mount makers do not, because nothing on it was made to be clamped.
Vent clips need a louvre to bite on. The Macan EV's vents are narrow slots with thin vanes and a hidden adjustment. A spring clip grips one vane, wobbles under braking and relaxes in summer heat. The vane is a calibrated part of the climate system, not a bracket.
Screen clamps hook over the bezel of the floating centre screen. The screen is mounted on its own stalk. Hang 250 g of phone and clamp off one edge and every expansion joint becomes a lever. The phone then covers part of the display.
Dash brackets like the Brodit ProClip lever into gaps between trim panels. ProClip lists mounts for the petrol Macan. The EV console is a different shape, and a bracket is still a black plastic arm on a dash you specified line by line.
And the leather. Anything that rests on a leather or Race-Tex surface shields it from UV. The rest of the panel keeps ageing. After a year the outline of the mount is there, and it does not come out. On the light interiors Porsche offers to show off the hide, it is obvious.
The cooled compartment avoids all of it by hiding the phone. Porsche ventilates it, which solves the heat problem the Taycan had. It does not solve the visibility problem. The phone lies in a slot under the console. No map, no caller ID, no glance at a message. CarPlay covers some of that. Not all of it.

The honest assessment of each option
Vent clips
The cheapest route and the first thing most owners try. The Macan EV's slim vents give the clip one thin vane. It wobbles, it tilts under braking, and the plastic relaxes in a hot cabin. The magnet plates that come with these are not Qi2, so you lose wireless charging as well.
Screen clamps
A hook over the bezel of the floating centre screen. Every pothole is a lever on a display that Porsche mounted on a stalk for a reason. The phone sits beside or over the screen, covering part of it. No charging worth the name.
Brodit ProClip
Honest engineering: a bracket that levers into a trim gap and holds. ProClip has brackets for the petrol Macan and may add the EV. Either way you live with a visible black bracket and, with a MagSafe holder added, a bill past €100.
Dash pads and suction mounts
They hold until the first hot afternoon or cold morning. A pad on the dash sits on leather and leaves a footprint. A cup on the windscreen puts the phone in your sight line and in view of everyone outside.
The factory cooled compartment
Porsche learned from the Taycan and ventilated the charging slot in the Macan EV. Heat is no longer the problem. Visibility is. The phone is in a slot under the console, flat and out of sight. If you run everything through PCM and never look at the phone, it is enough. If you use Waze, take video calls or want to see who is messaging, it is not.
DIY 3D prints
Forum files exist for the Macan EV tray, which tells you how much owners want a mount there. Desktop FDM prints warp at the temperatures a parked car reaches in July, the layer lines show, and nothing charges. Right idea, wrong tools.
What we built
The tray under the central vents is where the phone belongs. It is central, below the screen and in your sight line, at hand without reaching, and it is moulded plastic rather than leather. So we built a mount for it.
We scanned the electric Macan console and shaped a base that drops into the tray. Three hooks on the underside face the flap of the cooled compartment. The front of the base is a fraction larger than the opening, so it presses in and then sits as firmly as a factory part. No adhesive, no clip, no screw. On top sits the head you choose. The MagSafe variant ships complete with a Qi2 charger, up to 25 W over USB-C with a braided cable: iPhone 12 and newer, Qi2 Android phones, any MagSafe case up to 3 mm. For full speed, plug it into a 30 W or stronger USB-C PD source. The Quad Lock variant is a sintered-nylon adapter for the Quad Lock MAG charging head you already own.
Five steps, no tools. Route the cable through the grommet in the centre tunnel. Plug in USB-C. Face the hooks to the flap. Press the front in. Check the front lip presses against the compartment wall. Printable instructions in English and German are on the product page.

Made for the Macan EV console
Shaped from a 3D scan of the electric Macan's tray. Drops in, sits flush, looks like it belongs there.
Qi2 up to 25 W, MagSafe
Snap on, charge. iPhone 12 and newer, Qi2 Android. Quad Lock head as an alternative.
Magnetic Qi2 alignment
The phone snaps on and stays put through hard cornering. You pull it off; it does not fall off.
Nothing touches the leather
No vent, no screen, no dash. Sits in the tray, hooks to the flap. Reversible in seconds.
Made in Switzerland
Sintered PA12 nylon, laser sintered in our own workshop. 400 g complete. No warping in summer, no cracking in alpine cold. 2-year warranty, spares always available.
MagSafe means one hand on, one hand off. The phone snaps on and starts charging. Pull it off when you leave the car. Snap it back when you return. The cooled compartment below stays free for a second phone or for AirPods.
Porsche Macan EV Phone Mount
Drop-in console install · Qi2 up to 25 W or Quad Lock · Macan, 4, 4S, GTS, Turbo Electric (2024 to 2026)
Porsche leather ages through UV exposure. Cover part of a panel with a mount and the shielded area fades at a different rate than the rest. After 12 to 18 months the outline is visible and cannot be reversed. A mount that lives in the moulded console tray makes no contact with any leather surface. The problem does not exist.
Compatibility: Porsche Macan EV, 2024 to 2026
The rule: this mount is scanned from the all-electric Macan. If your Macan charges from a plug and has the tray under the vents with the flap below it, it fits.
- Macan Electric (base, rear-wheel drive)
- Macan 4 Electric
- Macan 4S Electric
- Macan GTS Electric
- Macan Turbo Electric
- Left-hand drive and right-hand drive. The tray is on the centreline, one mount fits both
- 2024 · 2025 · 2026
- Petrol Macan (2014 to 2026): different console. Own mount and guide below
The combustion Macan has its own mount and its own guide: Porsche Macan (2022 to 2026) phone mount guide. Not sure which console you have? Send a photo to team@tacticengineering.com.
Who this is for
Daily drivers on CarPlay
PCM is good. You still use Waze or Google Maps, and you still take calls. This keeps the phone upright under the screen, in reach and charged, without covering any of the display.
Long-range EV drivers
The Macan EV covers real distance between charges. MagSafe snap-on with Qi2 charging up to 25 W means the phone is full when you stop, without a cable across the console.
Light interior owners
Porsche sells the Macan EV with hides that show every mark. A bracket footprint on them is visible in a year. A mount in the moulded tray never touches them.
Owners who have tried everything else
A vent clip that wobbled, a clamp on the screen bezel, a phone forgotten in the compartment. This is the mount you were looking for when you bought those.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit the petrol Macan?
No. The combustion Macan has a different centre console. We make a separate mount for it: Porsche Macan (2022 to 2026) phone mount.
Does it fit the Macan 4, 4S, GTS and Turbo Electric?
Yes. Every electric Macan shares the same console. 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Left-hand drive or right-hand drive?
Both. The tray sits on the centreline, so one mount fits LHD and RHD without a variant choice.
How does the install work?
Five steps, no tools. Route the cable through the grommet in the centre tunnel, plug in USB-C, face the three hooks to the compartment flap, press the front of the mount into the tray, and check that the front lip sits against the compartment wall. Printable instructions in English and German are on the product page. Does it catch? Send us a photo.
Do I lose the cooled charging compartment?
No. The mount sits in the tray above it. The compartment stays free for a second phone or for AirPods.
Will it mark the tray or the leather?
No. The base sits in the moulded tray and touches nothing else. Press the front out and the console is as Porsche built it.
Does it work with Android phones?
Yes. Any Qi2 Android phone snaps on and charges. For phones without Qi2 magnets, a MagSafe-compatible case adds the alignment ring. Any case up to 3 mm works.
I already own a Quad Lock charging head. Which variant?
The Quad Lock variant. Same Macan EV base, with a sintered-nylon adapter that takes the Quad Lock MAG wireless charging head. You bring the head and the case. It weighs 300 g instead of 400 g.
Where is it made?
Switzerland. We scan the consoles, design the mounts and sinter the nylon in our own workshop. Two-year warranty, spare parts always available.
Ready to fit your Macan EV?
A phone mount scanned from the electric Macan console. Swiss made, drops in without tools, charges at up to 25 W, and never touches a surface Porsche intended to be left alone.
