Porsche Taycan Phone Mount
The factory wireless charger sits under a lid. It traps heat, it will not take a modern iPhone flat, and you cannot see the screen while it charges. This is where the phone goes instead.
Why this exists.
Porsche built a wireless charging pad into the centre console and put a lid over it. In practice Taycan owners stop using it within weeks. The lid traps heat, so the phone throttles on a warm day. The camera bump on an iPhone 14 and newer stops it lying flat against the pad. And with the lid closed you cannot see the screen, which is the one thing you wanted the phone for.
The alternatives are worse. A vent clip loads the air blades of a car whose interior was machined, not moulded. An adhesive pad leaves a mark on the dash that never comes out and shows up under sun. A suction cup on the windscreen is restricted in several European countries and gives up the first properly hot day.
So it goes in the cupholder. That is the one place in a Taycan where a mount can sit without touching a vent, a screen, the leather or the Alcantara. It pushes in, the rubber ring locks it, and it comes out in seconds leaving nothing behind.
